RIDER CLASSIFICATIONS

It is the duty of the individual rider to determine the class he is legal to ride in.  Entry into a class does not necessary make you legal for that class.  You can be protested by another entrant or his representative.  Responsibility of meeting property rider classification and bike specification rests within the individual entrant.

The BEGINNER (125cc) class is for those riders who have just begun to race and have not yet competed for more than one calendar year which is a 12 month period.  The class is for those who have not raced with any organization or racing event higher than the beginner class.  THE ONE YEAR PERIOD IS DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:  If a rider races for the first time in January of the current year, he may remain in the Beginner class until the end of January of the following year or if he races for the first time in March of the current year, he  may remain a Beginner through the end of March of the following year.  This same system applies to whatever month his racing activity begins.  The time period is NOT BASED ON HOW MANY TIMES HE RACES – it is based on a ONE YEAR 12 month period, depending on which month he starts racing on any size cycle. Note:  After riding as a beginner on a smaller size bike for the one year, a rider cannot not ride as a beginner on a higher cc bike.

The NOVICE class is for riders who are classified as Novice or “C” and have not raced as intermediate or “B” with any organization.

The INTERMEDIATE class is for riders who are classified as Intermediate or “B” and have not raced as Pro Sport,  Pro, Expert , “A” , Pro-AM etc. with any other organization.

The PRO class is for riders who race with any other organization as Pro, Expert, A”, “Money” or highest advanced class.
